How To - a Speedy Fire Starter for Camp Fires

We are a family who loves to camp and many of you may be camping this 4th of July weekend.

Paper towels with a little grease make a GREAT fire starter.  The grease burns longer helping to allow the wood and other kindling to catch fire.  If you happened to make bacon for breakfast, use a paper towel to wipe out the bacon grease from your pan and save that paper towel for helping you make your camp fire later in the evening.  If you didn't have bacon, you can always put a little butter on a paper towel or even put a little vegetable oil on it.

This tip also works great when starting your fireplace in the winter.  Remember those pine cone starters that have been dipped in a grease?  It is the same principle.

Please have a fun and safe 4th of July holiday weekend!

Hi Nancy, sorry it took so long to get back to you. We've been at the cottage all week without computer access... ugh!!

Dropped by for a visit and to follow you, thanks for finding me through the 40+ gals :)
