How To - Best Way to Store Asparagus and Herbs too!

Here is a simple tip that will add some refrigerator time to your asparagus and herbs that you buy in bunches like parsley and cilantro.  When you get it home, trim off the bottom 1/2" of the stalks or herbs and stand the spears upright in a glass.  I use an empty jelly jar and I also keep on the rubber band or twist tie that comes with when I purchase them.  Add enough water to cover the stalks by about an inch.  Place the glass in the refrigerator and add water as needed.  It keeps these items fresh and firm days longer.  An added benefit, I think it looks pretty when I open my refrigerator and see the green.
Happy Homemaking,

Thank you, thank you! I've been trying to save cilantro unsuccessfully forever.
