Meal Planning Tip

Keep a piece of notebook paper taped inside a kitchen cabinet door or someplace very handy.  When you cook a recipe that is a 5 star for your family, write the name of the recipe down on the paper.  Also write the name of the cookbook and page number where the recipe is located.  (It is so frustrating to know you made a great recipe and then forget where which cookbook it was in.)  Then when making your meal plan for the week, be sure to include a couple of those 5 star recipes along with a couple of new ones you've been wanting to try.  This way, if one of the new recipes happen to flop, the family knows that tomorrow night's meal will be a winner.

Hey, I have been doing this for several years; am now scanning those favs for my girls in the future. I also write ON the recipe in the cookbook noting the dates of special occasions ("cooked for TJ and Melissa 9/10"). It's so nice to remember those moments the next time I cook that great thing!
