Hi Friends,
When I have a can of store bought frosting (yes sometimes I buy the premade stuff when I have a coupon and it is on sale) it can be tough to get it to cover the top and sides of a cake. If I'm just frosting the top of the cake then no problem, but there just isn't enough to do the sides as well.
Empty the frosting can into your mixing bowl and whip the frosting for a couple of minutes. You can literally double the size of it. Now you have enough to do the top and sides and perhaps even a layer in between. Another added benefit. You have made the frosting softer. There is less chance of it pulling up the little crumbs from the cake into the frosting as you spread it.
Happy Homemaking and Blessings,
Nancy
