Welcome SITS Girls!

Hi Girls,
Today is my SITS day and I couldn't be happier to introduce myself and my blog to you!
If you have no idea what a SITS day is let me enlighten you.

The SITS Girls are a community of more than 8,000 women bloggers dedicated to supporting one another. Each day they choose a blogger to feature on their site, and today it's me!!!

The SITS Girls site offers community, support, and an awesome place to meet some fabulous bloggers. They are the brains behind Bloggy Boot Camp, an event I hope is in my future! The site offers education for new and seasoned bloggers alike, and it's a none stop clicking adventure over there.

So to my new SITS visitors let me give you a warm welcome and introduce myself.  I'm Nancy Jacobs, the name and face behind How To Homemaker.  I'm first and foremost a Christian and love our dear Lord and Savior.  I feel that through him we create our lives and our homes.  Next I'm married, 22 years, to my sweet hubby Mike.  We have 3 beautiful children.  All teenagers now!  The oldest 2 are girls and then our son is 13.  It is very important to me to teach our girls to be keepers of the home and to teach our son some domestic skills as well.  Men need to know how to cook and sew on a button too!

How To Homemaker is a collection of tips, tricks, recipes, crafts, and my thoughts that I publish to add value to our days.

Some of my favorite posts have been:

My 5 ingredient recipes have been popular and they are sprinkled throughout the blog.

There is so much to Homemaking and I feel that our time is of value.  I try to keep my posts relatively short and to the point.

I enjoy all things related to homemaking.  I love cooking, gardening, cleaning not so much, but I enjoy sewing and crafting.  One of the things I enjoy most of all is teaching others.  I'm so glad to be here in the blogosphere and I hope you get a nugget of inspiration each time you visit my blog.

I also blog at Basketmaster's Weavings, which was my first blog.  I'm also a basket weaver.  Over there you will find weaving tips and techniques along with several free patterns that I've written.  I've done many YouTube videos on basket weaving and a few on crafts.  Here is the link to my YouTube channel.  My most recent blog venture has been Discover Direct Selling where I give tips to women mostly in the party plan business as I'm a Scentsy Independent Consultant.  I also sell my baskets and crafts at craft shows which is another form of direct selling.  Finally, I've put a small podcast out called Making Our Home a Haven which you can listen to on iTunes.  It's focus is on trying to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

So that is it about me.  Grab a cup of coffee or tea and I hope you enjoy taking a look around here and enjoy all the homemaking tips and ideas.  Say "hello" and come back often!

Homemaking Blessings to all of you,
Nancy

Congrats on your SITS day! Love the tip about making multiple meals and freezing them. Just makes my day when I'm too tired to cook but remember I have something good in the freezer. I bought a huge stockpot at a restaurant supply store and when I make homemade chicken stock, I make lots using 3 whole chickens. Then I have plenty to freeze in 6 cup plastic containers and can pull it out for a hot comforting soup meal anytime I need it.
